Best source for rocker panel moulding, aka trim, for 1965...
« on: January 10, 2019, 10:18:44 PM »
My car's finally out of paint and coming together and I need a new set of the rocker panel mouldings (I've also seem them referred to as trims) that attach under the doors and back.  I've looked at them on CJ and NPD but not sure where to source them.  I want a pair that are high quality and would not upset a concourse judge if/when I get to that point.  Any suggestions would be helpful!  Thanks, Ron

My only choice for these would be NOS Ford.

+1... I've heard about a lot of problems with the repo's, even though the look nice, apparently have problems with the clips holding them on and keep popping off or coming lose on the car. I do see NOS ones pop up on eBay frequently...

Reproductions are too thin of a gauge of aluminum, they are difficult to install and sometimes get deformed due to the difficult installation. NOS or excellent used is the only way to go. Here is a part that should be easy for the repro guys to make correctly, but it's not. Add it to the list.

I have a repro set on mine. I haven’t restored the originals since I like the fact I don’t have to worry about damaging these. However like previously mentioned they didn’t fit and if I wanted to I could probably rip them in half with my bare hands.
