I am cleaning an abnormal amount of undercoating on my 66 K code GT differential and floor pans,  I have found 622, in yellow grease chalk on hump, grip or machining marks on the tubes, i am still cleaning, should I find other markings on the housing? I am using a citrus bath to gently clean, use a rag and mineral spirits to scrub undercoat off. have used a heat gun with ventilation to soften thick spots. I am not good at the search function, never get the correct term I guess. I am also trying to find paint marks on driveshaft. 4 speed San Jose car, SCHEDULE BUILD 11/08/65.

Believe you will find the "622" is your car's second rotation number. Typical practice at San Jose during 66 production

Have you found the same number elsewhere - typical locations? Don't know the condition of your car but some may still exist.

You'll often find many more markings on the third member since it passed through more assemblers and inspectors hands during the build process

For me the 65-66 drivelines are difficult. So many different reports and observations with different color combinations I find it difficult to suggest a reliable set of colors. Checked my records and have 4 different color combinations used or at least found on unrestored 66 San Jose K code 4 speed cars. Good thing is that you can wait and add these with ease later. In fact they are easier to apply once the driveline is installed. Just get a friend or family member to spin a rear wheel with the car out of gear. Did this same thing on a customers car a few weeks back

On an example from your cars period one place to also look on the housing is where the drivers side tube transitions to the center section on the top surface where the two kind of meet.

Last night I found a "7" in the hump inside the housing, a yellow "1' on the bottom of the chunk housing and trying to decipher yellow lettering on tube, looks like 57 N J, is this the non leading spot possibly? Slow process with this heavy undercoating, a real sloppy mess. I am still trying to figure out how to do pictures. Haven't even started the gearset yet. I will carry on today, wife's bday so focus on her to stay out of trouble.

Don't often find allot of markings on the tubes but there have been some. Since some of these may have been crayons rather than paint they may not have held up as well as the paint markings

Something simple and sure you've checked. The casting date on the 3rd member/chunk. Something very basic but since these are often swapped you always want to look
