The Mannel guide only shows the non-breather neck type on page 7-22, no mention of a breather neck style
Paragraph 7F1 on p. 7-22 Mannel says that the 1967 standard
open crankcase ventilation system used a twist-on breather cap with AUTOLITE logo stamping. (No breather/filler neck).
See Mannel Chapter 6/1966, paragraph 6F4 on p. 6-28 for a discussion about the 289
closed ventilation system, with a twist-on filler neck and slip-on breather cap with hose attached. From the information available, this 1966 design carried over to 1967 production of Closed Crankcase Emission System 289 engines.
My SJ '67 C code (30 Nov 66) has a Level 15 Windsor engine with the closed ventilation system and internal Thermactor passages in the cylinder heads. It has the twist-on filler neck (pics in Reply #8). The breather cap is the slip-on type, black paint, turn up hose spout with the block FoMoCo logo stamping.
