I have been looking for one of these for my restoration.  I found one, but the owner wants to keep it.  Here are some pictures for your restoration reference.

So that would be a service replacement part. It would not be correct for unrestored. If it were not for the box in the background, it would be hard to tell. I am sure there are some clues like a date code. Probably no low maintenance sticker from the factory. Nice find though and thanks for the photo.

Just wondering if anybody has or knows of anybody who has a battery like the photo above, of a Motorcraft late 1970's vintage red or black top with a white case, in any condition. I would be interested in buying or just being able to get detailed dimensions off of it so as to try and make a mock up.

Kevin,  This would be correct for a MCA Concours Class as it was purchased for.

As a MCA Judge, I am a purist, I have judged your SVO.  If this battery was presented in an unrestored car, I would find it difficult to mark off from as it is a true 1979 Motorcraft Battery.  You know how hard these perishable parts are to find.

Is that an April 1982 date code on the box?
