I saw those.  I was thinking about  them and there was a chevy Camaro fan shroud clip.  I did not have original to compare.   but agree the macs one looks pretty close by pictures..

They look very similar.

Similar but different from what normally was used. Better than nothing IMHO if they are of the same size and dimensions. There are a number of different versions depending on application and production year. My 71 Dearborn uses them, their similar but different also

My May 22, 1969 San Jose R code SCJ 4spd car has no indications of clips or staples...no seal present.  It has 100% of its sheet metal too so the support is original.  Not saying it couldn't have had one just clipped on at some point...but don't see any proof of it being there.  My late Oct 68 Grande doesn't have staple holes either and it's a Dearborn car.  It was taken off the road in 1975 due to a head issue and I bought it 8 years after from the original owner.

Both would match (clips rather than screws or staples) expected patterns we seen in the past.

Clips for San Jose which leave almost no evidence, seal part of the Cobra Jet package/requirements

And for Dearborn we've got a fair number using electrical harness retainers when apparently workers have problems with the stapler

I found my original seal and a picture of when it was on the car.  Does this look likw an original seal?  No indication of clips, just staples.

I forgot to mention that the seal measured 27 and 1/4 inches long.

Since your car is a fairly early car its a good chance IMHO that it may be as we have other very early cars with the staples at that plant but they changed to the clip pretty soon after the start of the production year it appears
