Original / Assembly Line Bendix Brake Booster ID?
« on: April 16, 2018, 02:19:52 AM »
Hey Gang,

What are the specific details to look for when seeking out an original / assembly line Bendix brake booster for a '70 Cougar / Mustang?

I've seen 2 variations on the "Bendix 6945" myself.
The one that came on my car has the 6945 stamp, but it is not very "bold", and there are no numbers stamped on the face underneath the mount for the master cylinder.
I've also seen some where the 6945 is very deep and crisp / bold and easily read, and there are numbers stamped into the face underneath the master cylinder mount.

Perhaps some pictures will helps?

These are the two variations I have:

Top example, you can see is plainly stamped Bendix 6945, with Patent numbers underneath.  Very deep and crisp.

Bottom one is less distinct, and the "6945" is barely visible.  No patent numbers underneath at all.
