Hey all,

These came off a pretty much untouched car and want to know if these look like service parts or original assembly line items. Just because the car was pretty much untouched it doesn't mean these weren't replaced at some point. I need a set of original perches for my car and came across these, looking to restore a set of originals. The one thing that I haven't seen when searching for pictures of perches that seemed different, is the "S" with a circle around it stamped into the metal. Don't know if I found anyone talking about that...

I've searched around the forum and found one good thread, but that was about it.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,

Jason

No those are not original to your 66 SJ car. First off the bolts are coarse and should be fine .The thread design didn't change until sometime in later 67 production . The tab stop length (for coil wire) is too long and is likely a later 70's design.

The circle S is typically seen on later examples too.

Thanks for clarifying Bob, didn’t want to send them out until I was sure. I did locate these others, would these be correct, they look like the earlier style with Rockford fine thread bolts which I believe were the ones used for San Jose cars from a past thread... again, February 10th 1966 San Jose built car.

Thanks,

Yes they are the right ones . The hardware can always be changed on the other one , the stop tab not so much.
