65-66 289 HiPo Fan Spacers
« on: January 05, 2010, 08:26:19 PM »

We now have a very limited supply of new reproduction 65-66 Mustang HiPo / GT350 Fan Spacers.  We will be getting our larger stock in around the first part of February.

I think that they turned out nice.  They are the correct size (2.36" total / 2 1/16" not counting alignment pilot dowel) with the FoMoCo Logo (Ford Licensed.)  They also feature the "blocked out" casting number and the "winged" logo with the casting cavity number "3."  I've seen some with "4" also.  I'm guessing "1" and "2" may exist also.

I have included pictures, so you can compare an original to the reproduction.  Price is $49.95, and you can order here:

Gents,
I just ordered concours bolts for my 1965 HiPo fan.  I am using a fan spacer that I thought was correct for my kar but after reading the post above I think mine is not original to a 1965-66 HiPo.

My fan spacer (pics included) measures 2 3/8" and 2 5/8" with alignment dowel.  When I went to install the fan bolts I noticed they were to short.  Package says they are engine fan bolts for a 2 1/5" spacer.  Bolts measure 2 11/16".  The bolts are clearly not long enough when the fan is mounted to the spacer.  That got me thinking:  do I have the wrong spacer or the wrong length bolts?  Please check out the pictures and let me know.  After reading the post above I assume I have the wrong fan spacer.

Thank

That style of spacer in your picture is incorrect style for your car. The style you picture has a contour shape like what I call Mickey Mouse ears and is more typically seen on 1968 and later cars. The 65,66,and 67 used a different style contoured shaped spacer (like Brant posted).
