I am preparing to restore the convertible top on my June 64 K-code. The original owner states that the top was originally black, and the second owner states that he replaced the original black top with a white top (he also stated that he may have dyed the original top white, but it doesn't look to me like what's on there has been dyed). However, the white top on the car now has a loop on the top where the window zipper closes, like an original. The brass zipper pull on the top says "SCOVILL". There is no fabric trim on either side of the window. Can someone please explain the loop/no loop for 64 1/2 convertible tops and window - what they look like for this time period and post a pic or two? Also, the convertible top pads that run the length of top front to rear on both sides have a different woven pattern than the pads on my July SJ convertible, wondering it this is also an identifying feature. I attahced a couple of pictures.
I appreciate the help.
Thank you,
