Topic: Shock tower dimple

Hi Fellas
Anyone tell me if the dimple in my pass side shock tower should be there or not. I have seen pics of other cars with a dimple there, and some without.
Its forward facing about 2" down from the top. 1965 13R Dearborn FB.

66 Dearborn car: no dimple. 
The dimple is very close to where the end of the air cleaner snorkel would hit the shock tower if it were forced rearward.

I would work it out with a hammer and dolly

Seen it on a bunch of other cars.  Some I have observed look like a number stamp made the indentation.

Asm109 Car is a '65  - dont know if that makes a difference ?
Charles I am repainting so perhaps I will strip the area and see what it looks like, I did not want to lose the dimple if it was meant to be there.

Sorry to drag this back up, but I thought the passenger side shock tower dimple was to give the generator more room.  Were the passenger side shock towers of the '62-'63 V8 Falcons notched the same way?

I believe the OP in his post was referring to the small dimple (ding)  2" down from the top in the picture and not the large indentation in the shock tower.
