1965 Visibility Group
« on: September 28, 2017, 08:16:35 PM »
Does anyone know definitively all of the options that made up the "Visibility Group" for a Dearborn built 1965 GT???  It was built in July of 1965 and has a C4 with A/C and standard interior.

Just thinking off the top of my head the visibility group included:
- 2-speed wipers with windshield washer
- side view mirrors on both doors with the drivers being remote control
- day/night rear view mirror

The attached is from the 1965 Salesman's Price Book. This agrees with the 1965 Sales Brochure.

Thanks Matt and Bob!

That is what I was thinking, but wasn't 100% sure.  That brochure is a great resource!

Matt,
The Visibility Group package does not include the passengers' side mirror. My 65 GT Fastback was ordered with the Visibility Group (I have the original window sticker) but I had to add the passenger's mirror. The same applies for my 66 GT Fastback (except I don't have the window sticker, but I know both previous owners), I added the passenger's side mirror.

sales brochures were often printed prior to production and sometimes items did not make it into production.

Yes, I know that. This is why I clarified my Statements.

In order to further clarify, the Brochures do not specifically say "Factory Option", so they could have also been "Dealer Options". In either case though, they could have been ordered when the car was ordered (unless of course something specific revised what was noted in the Brochures. Too bad someone doesn't have a Price Guide for these years like the one I Posted earlier in this thread in regard to the 1965 Visibility Group. However, I think that since these were "Color-Keyed", it would make sense that they would come from the Factory rather than the Dealer having to paint each one to match a specific car.
