1989 Mustang engine manufacture labels
« on: May 24, 2010, 11:53:08 AM »
I took delivery of my 89 Mustang in June of 1989.  I removed and saved all the labels which would deteriorate or be destroyed by vehicle use.  I have registered my car for an MCA show and can't remember where these labels attach.
I believe one was on the drivers side engine block and the other was on a valve cover, can't be sure.
These are 2 paper labels with black letter/number codes:
#1--- 1 3/8" X 1 3/4----9K337AA
                                   5/25/89
                                      LA
LA is in very large font
#2--- 1 3/8" X 3 3/8"--------9K337AA+10
                                           LA                   5/25/89

Does anyone know the correct location for these labels?

thanks

#2 goes on the passenger side valve cover.  It sticks to the side below the ribbing and just above the spark plug wires.

#1 I can't locate a similar one on my vehicle.

Let me know if you need any other info.

If memory serves me correctly, the engine label in question on the driver side should have been on the rear of the valve cover facing the firewall. They were known to fall off over time and heat cycles. They have also been known to be omitted at the factory.

I'm curious how many miles does your 89 have? What class are you entering it in? Can you post some pics of it?
