Marti Report
« on: January 18, 2017, 10:28:20 PM »
Just received my Elite Marti Report. The first email I received with the initial deluxe report gave me the basics which stated trim variation. I am told by second owner whom I purchased car from that the car never had Mach 1 stripes. Invoice has no mention of trim variation and has stripes listed at no charge. Attached are three reports. Confused now. Any explanations why trim variation is not listed on invoice?

I don't see what we normally see as a shipping invoice (showing cost and suggested retail) but instead a reproduction which would simply reflect what the marti report shows - since that is what is used to create the reproduction. The original #2 shipping invoices were available for many cars but as they were sold over the years I'm unsure is Lois ever kept copies or sent the only original she had at the time.

Don't think I've ever seen a Marti report or an original invoice that listed that the car received the interior variation

As far as stripes. Maybe the second owner is mistaken or they were removed or not replaced before he got the car. Had allot of original owners that forgot details or made claims that were proven wrong later after working with the car

Since all three of the documents you posted are from the same source I would expect them all to match as they apparently do with one another

How would I go about finding out what the trim variation is? Contact Kevin Marti and ask for #2 shipping invoice? Thought I would know by the more in depth report.

I went online to Marti Auto Works and looked up original Ford invoices. According to the website the only invoices that are available are through Dearborn for the 1969 Mustang. I assume the information cannot be found on what the trim variation is due to the car being a San Jose car. Would this be a valid assumption?

There haven't been any Eminger invoices for San Jose cars.
What you're expecting to see is a delete option credit for having no Mach 1 stripes?

Here is a discussion on a 69 with Trim Variation on the CJ site.
It was mentioned it was the light vs dark wood trim.

I was expecting to see something on the invoice for stripe deletion. Going to try to get back in touch with Roger who I purchased car from 21 years ago to see if I can find out who original owner is. Work my way backwards.

So what your saying is earlier cars came with teak trim and this one had the trim variation to the walnut?

Not sure if I would call it a variation since we don't normally refer to changes the providers or Ford makes when they change a style or design of a part on the assembly line with that term.  The earlier color/finish was not longer available or installed.

On buildsheets they use a code DEV which I think might be decoded as "deviation" located after the interior code boxes (2 of them)> Kevin Marti's The Mustang & Cougar Tagbook shows a list of interior codes and the deviation versions also According to that reference the extra "A" on the interior code of Mach I  with black interiors is sort of related to the dash insert finish as is indicates that the darker door panel insert was to be installed. He chooses to use the term "variation"
