OEM louvers
« on: December 28, 2016, 07:09:49 PM »
Restoring my car and unfortunately the car did not come w/ louvers. Once I got mine off I realized they are original. Read here originals have numbers which these do. My question is what are they worth? Need to sell to buy more correct parts, thanks.

I would look at ebay sold listings as a gauge, as opposed to dreamer active listings prices.
Those are nice, no breaks at the spine.
The little rubber channel piece on the spine to protect the glass is missing though, can't tell if the little bushings to secure the hold down fingers are there?
What sort of inserts are in the car for mounting, the dealer install well nuts (see AMK Products), or just metal rivnuts?
Are the hinges, hold downs and gaskets original too?
Very popular 69 item regardless of originality, most people throwing money down for these cars are happy to have the louvers.
If you're not totally sure, don't be in a rush to unload them.
If you need parts, try a WTB in this sites classifieds, and maybe trading the louvers for parts needed would serve you better.

The hardware and gaskets are all there and believe its original. Inserts were not correct. Was not 100% sure louvers were original until I found out about the numbers on the inside. Read here. Knew the channel pieces were missing, caused some scratches on the rear window. trade might work if I could find someone who has what I am looking for. Checked on Ebay and could only find one sold in October for $700. Thanks for your help.

Was that $700 a complete package like what you want to sell, or just the slats?
I could see $700 for just the slats themselves, but $1000 with hinges and hold downs and gaskets included.

Thanks,
I would have never guessed the hardware would be worth that much.
