Topic: Motorcraft TKF-1 Tune-Up Kit

Does anyone know how these tune up cans are packed?  Is everything just thrown is loose?  When I turn the can around, I can hear the contents rattling around.  It looks like an older part as it doesn't have the pull top and plastic lid I've seen on other units.  Here are some pictures...

They had vacuum formed plastic inserts that held the sparkplugs and a similar form plastic cap piece to put over the top of the plugs. The topside of the cap plastic held the points,condenser, lube, and plastic feeler gauge .  The instruction sheet was ether on the topside or in the bottom with the plugs.

Sounds like everything should be held in place.  The can I have is sealed but I guess the internal packaging has been compromised since it sounds like the contents are moving around freely inside the can.

The parts are not packed in tight but are seperated from each other
so if you hear some rattling that should be expected.

I picked this up as part of a large lot and the lid was removed.  I took the items out and took pictures at each layer.
1. (top) sticker
2. point and condenser
3. orange plastic divider
4. white plastic feeler gage
5. spark plugs
6. orange plastic divider
7. instructions hugging the outside

Ha.. I've had one of these that I picked up at Carlisle, PA. sealed and its been sitting on my shelf for the past 15 years... Always wondered what it looked like inside..

The  Motorcraft marked cans get used for drivers because they were a product of the70's and beyond. The Autolite mark cans are more valuable because the contents are all 60's vintage Autolite trademarked and more appropriate for display or  use on high caliper concours cars.

Pacemaker prize points were an incentive to sell parts. When we accumulated enough, there was a catalog of prizes that you could claim by redeeming the points. I might still have a few around somewhere.
