67 Reassembly Sequence, Wire Harness
« on: November 24, 2016, 12:20:47 PM »
I am ready to reinstall the interior wire harness on my 67 . I purchased the car in baskets, so I do not know exactly how it cam apart! My thought is to install the firewall pad first then the Heater/AC unit then the harness. While I am asking, is the fuse box located to the upper right of the gas pedal? Has anyone used the molded rubber firewall insulation kit from Mac's Antique Auto (PN# 44-45422-1)? I know it's not correct but, with what reviews on others available is this the way to go?
Thanks in Advance

I can only answer as to the location of the fuse box: you are correct, it is to the right and above of the gas pedal.

I'd be glad to get you a picture of the location from my 1967 Shelby under the dash at the block if you need. You can technically start in the engine compartment and the taillamp/trunk first. I did with reassembly. Make sure you get the tail lamp harness in before you start the interior. You have to have access behind the right and left interior quarter trim.

Yes firewall pad first then you can start from that surface and work forward and rearward from there

Get a set of Mustang Assembly Manuals for your car's year. By looking at the wiring, body and interior pages side by side, you can get a pretty good idea as to Ford's intent.
