65 Dash Pad Replacement
« on: April 14, 2011, 11:39:05 AM »
I am not too well versed in the earlier cars.  In speaking with a gentleman the other day, he stated the 65 dash pad needed to be trimmed when replaced and that required the removal of the windshield.  I find that hard to believe but maybe that's due to getting a repro part to fit correctly.   Anyone have input on this? Thanks.

Can be done without removing the windshield.  Just requires putting the replacement piece on for a test fit and determining how much, if any, material needs to be removed from the front edge.  Just be careful you don't cut off too much.

Kevin-
Installed my dash last weekend. I have a "Ford Tooling" dash, the only trimming I did was to notch out where the screws go for the metal trim next to the windshield. Other than that it fit like a glove....a reproduction glove but a glove none the less!
