C7OF-9510-B Carb Ball stud on accelerator linkage
« on: November 26, 2016, 04:00:17 AM »
Does anyone know what application used a ball stud on the linkage?
Cruise control?
Thanks

Every car with a cable linkage instead of linkage rod. Mustangtek has this as a Fairlane, Comet, Mustang, Cougar application however at least the Mustang & Cougar would not have used a linkage cable (cannot remember if Fairlane etc. used a linkage cable but it stands to reason they did not)

I have to wonder if this example is a pieced together rebuild job. Maybe good for parts & pieces if needed for a Mustang application.

I see WCCC list a different accelerator rod for 390 with speed control ... no pic though.

Speed control would not have used a different carburetor though the linkages may have differed.

There are Ford illustrations and part numbers of these and other details in the cruise control installation instructions shown in the 67 Library section ;)

A Mustang installation would not use the ball and stud attachment point
