Correct radiator for my mustang - SJ A Code Auto
« on: November 06, 2016, 09:32:41 PM »
Hello all, I currently have a rough old 4 core radiator in my 66 GT mustang fastback, it has air, steer and its an automatic, I would like the correct radiator for this vehicle and I am currently looking on the Scott Drake website, but it does not give specific application for the radiators it sells to suit the 66 year 289. can someone help.
They do list (2) 3 core radiators for the 289 and one is a high flow. I would like to make sure I do not order the wrong one.
Kind regards,
Richard.

Unfortunately, none of the radiators currently being sold by the vendors are even close to being concours correct.  The only real option is to find an original radiator and have it recored.

If you aren't concerned about authenticity, NPD offers a good selection of 3 row radiators.

I bought a radiator from NPD about 2 years ago.  After hearing about the complaints with the import radiators, I opted to spend a few more bucks for a US made 3 row radiator from http://www.usradiator.com.  No complaints at all with my purchase.  Works great.  It's not 100% concours correct but to the untrained eye, it looks factory correct.  They've gone up in price but I would still buy it all over again.  Here's the link at NPD:
