Topic: 1968 GT center caps emblem color

 I'm trying to match the red color of the 68' GT center caps emblem. Anyone had luck with a good color match and manufacture?? I am needing to repaint the set i have..

So from other searches, I have found that the "red" in the GT center is a candy apple red?? Anyone use a spray paint match for this?? Or perhaps a match with model paints like Testors?? Plastickote offers a Ford Candy Apple red but I'm wondering if that is correct?? I cant match from the red on my current caps as either it is almost gone or too faded. Any response is greatly appreciated.

I have used Testors red but can not give you the number. It was a very close match.

Sorry can't recall if the center cap red is like the side emblem red or its a less transparent - truer/solid red.

For the transparent type that was used on emblems I've had success with Testor's model Candy Apple red. A bit darker and transparent product
