Anyone have original Boltaflex or Vinylite rear curtains?
« on: September 04, 2016, 08:50:13 AM »
Looking into if a changeover date can be determined.

I have documentation of a Boltflex on an early '65 (date unknown but convertible top frame had eccentric adjustment of Bow #2 and the pinned, not threaded latch attachment truss head bolt, which would indicate a date prior to Nov 8 '65 for the top to be built, installation on the line probably lagged this by a few weeks to use up backlog ) and a Vinylite from a '66 (August 66 date)

Can anyone provide more data points?

Or know if they were dependent on assembly plant, and not build date (which I do not believe to be the case as I thought all tops were pre-assembled at Utica and shipped to the plants ready-to-install, but that may be incorrect)

I have pictures of a Boltflex with date code 7-64 and a Vinalite dated 11 65. I believe the one on my June 65 is a Tri lite.

My January '65 Dearborn car had an original "9-64" Boltaflex window.
