68 Shelby GT350,was the water pump on or off when engine was painted?

The entire engine was painted Ford blue, except for the carburetor, PCV hose, distributor, fuel pump, damper, alternator - smog (some) - air conditioning - power steering brackets, temperature sender, engine mounts. Use the search feature. There are also pictures of assembled engines on a rack ready to ship.
