Charles:
I've been following your blog since late last year, and I am in awe of what you've accomplished. I have a 65 Convertible, C-code, which I would like to keep as original as possible. I have managed to collect a few NOS parts, but I'm at a bit of a crossroads. I don't have the resources to continue trying to find NOS parts, and a C-code wouldn't warrant that investment even if I could. Should I just use reproduction parts or try to stick with as much NOS/original as I can? Replacing the rear bumper is a great example of my dilemma. The repro bumpers aren't great, I can't find NOS (and again is my car worth that investment anyway?), and I'm having a hard time finding somewhere to get the bumper rechromed. Goodmark has a rechroming service, which I think will run about $400. Is that a good option, or am I wasting money that I could use to move the project further along? Will the Goodmark "show chrome" be inconsistent with the NOS/replacement from bumper if I were to go that route? I would appreciate your advice, as well as that of other members of the Forum. Thanks. -James in Richmond, VA
