WT8095    Good work.  I just posted a new thread a few minutes ago asking for info on 63D.  Great job.   I've been looking all week for any mention of 63D. Someone told me guys were really good over here. I believe it.  I didn't know about this site.  I've been on VMF for a while. Thanks for the info.

Glad I could help. The CMF veterans have a tremendous amount of hands-on knowledge. I can't come close to those guys in that department, but I am rather handy with a search engine.  8)

I have read two separate posts on 69 Dearborn buck tags. This post indicates the tag is mounted on the inner fender top, near the hood hinge and another post indicates the rad support behind the fender. Which is correct for a Jan built car?

The tread got off topic again and some NJ picture and info crept in I believe. Only see two mounting pictures in this tread one from the Dearborn car in the original post (to the radiator support) and one post showing a NJ location. 

Standard expected location IMHO (where I've always found them on 69 Dearborn cars) is the passenger side radiator support near where the upper fender mounting bolt is attached. Not unusual for the buck tag to be under the fender since it was installed later


Examples through the production year. Pretty consistent

















And a shot proving that they were in place when the engine compartment (and car)  was painted semi-gloss black
