Installation Trunk Divider Convertible
« on: April 20, 2016, 08:13:29 AM »
Hello at all..

first a few words about myself. My name ist Steffen (33) and iam from Germany.
Last year i bought my 67 mustang convertible in Arizona and did a small trip about 800 miles to the huge Grand Canyon and insane Vegas :o  without big incidents  :D
It's a San Jose A-Code Lime Gold produced on 6/27/1967.

During the resto many questions come up, like this one. Hope get some hints from you guys  ;)
Thank you!

I try to install a new trunk divider on my convertible but don't know how it will be fixed correctly.

On the upper side it seem's to be just holds down to the rain gutter by fixing the well liner to the tack rail.

On the lower side it could be fixed (above the well liner) by the same screws like the well liner goes into the bottom of the trunk.

Ain't got a girl, i ain't got many friends
Gonna drive that car of mine to the living end
My baby likes to run, run as fast as you can
And when I'm in her I feel like a man
I'M IN LOVE WITH MY CAR

Looking at you photos it looks like your car has the vinyl back glass. If that is how it was originally equipped it would have not used the hard board divider.  The screws that held it at the bottom were a phosphate washer head self tapping screw. At the top several clips were used to hold it to the structure. Your Marti report should list the deluxe back glass if your car had the option. If you do not have a Marti report check under the body for evidence of the bottom mounting holes. I'll try to find a picture of the clip.

Hello Marty, yes you are right! originally the car was equipped with the deluxe back glass. Now there is just a vinyl glass.
There was an old divider(but no clips) installed but i wanted to renew them age-related.
I did not find any clip for that application yet  ::)
So correctly i should mount it on top with these clips and at the bottom side iam right with my pic and the screws for the well liner AND the divider?

Thank you!
