I need a pair of bottom leaf springs for a Dec 1964 k-code fastback. Any lead would help.

Well, OK. C4AZ applies - except in California, the other lower 48 states, North of the Equator, South of the Equator and two small islands in the middle of the Artic Ocean.

What? You'll have to speak up. My hearing ain't what it used to be.
But as long as we're on the subject, what is the difference between C4ZA-5556-K, -L, -S and -Y springs? Ford Car Parts list all those 650 pound variations (replace by C5ZZ-5560-E which was discontinued as of May, 75) for Convertibles and Fastbacks (thru 66) with the "K" code engine. Hardtop HP's have their own series of four dash letters (and four non-HP), plus there is another 650 pound series of four dash letters for non-HP and I-6 Convertibles and Fastbacks.
I see possible answers as: date related (early, mid and late production); different vendors; different plants - what?

The differences are in spring rate, which is the distance a spring deflects under a given load and is listed in lb/in. Spring rate is not listed in the MPCs - instead, Ford used a unfortunately similar-sounding term load rate, which indicates how much weight the spring is designed to carry, but is not descriptive of the stiffness of the spring. For example, a 650 lb load rate spring that has 100 lb/in spring rate will give a soft cushy ride. A 650 lb load rate spring that has 300 lb/in spring rate is going to give a much firmer, maybe even harsh ride. Of course ride quality also depends on sprung weight vs. unsprung weight, but that gets into a much longer discussion...
