Topic: Windlace by Door in 1970 Sportroof

Am looking for photos of properly installed windlace that covers the pinch weld running from the interior quarter trim panel and down to the door sill plate.  In particular am interested in how the windlace starts/terminates and what it looks like along the way.

Just so I don't have to look through all the plants and just in case there is a difference in what the workers did - When and where was your car assembled?

Jeff ... thanks for your response.  Mine was built in Dearborn July, 1970.

Looks like the general idea was for the top edge to smoothly transition behind/between the door edge and the interior panel rather than have the end create a sharp 90 degree edge at the top. How much the transition takes is up to you to determine. Tried to post pictures of cars that were not repainted so that the interior panels were less likely disturbed. Did find a couple of ones with the sharp upper end but in the minority by allot


At the bottom is simply travels between the door jamb inner edge, the lower edge of the interior panel to beneath the sill plate

jeff the 70 windlace actually has a 70 dozz ford # as I got an nos 1  but never compared it to other 69s but looked thicker from what I remembered.

Thanks Ed - didn't know that nor have I removed on to look. Guess there is no difference between the one for a Conv and a Sportroof (any of the body styles)

no not a fastback only windlace as all 3 body types the same but not sure if all 70s but I havea nos windlace ina dozz ford package but never really compared it to a 69
