69 Brake Rotor questions

I am looking to buy the correct front disc brake rotors for my cougar.

Built april 2nd at the dearborn plant 428CJ car.

Were the originals a 2 piece design?? If so does anyone still sell them?

Also is there anyone selling correct rear drums??

Or do the aftermarket ones look correct therefore no one cares????

no on both ?    you can buy a rotor & press the OE 2 piece apart  & replace just the rotor & use your hub over.  the 69 70 oe rear drums had 1 groove in them & same as mustang a c2oz #

Originals were a 2-piece design for all 1970 front disk brakes.  The hub is attached to the rotor via pressed in lug studs.  These may fit but you should check with NPD:  https://www.npdlink.com/store/products/rotor_front_two_piece-101130-1.html

Depends on who you get the rear drums from. Lots of MADE IN CHINA, different # of ribs and other features. So it will depend on you, what level of correctness you want to live with or present. Kind of a individual search and comparison.



Good example of a 69 guys? Know it would be easier if I had a shot from the inside bearing side - they are staggered or unequal (ignore the paint mark since it does not apply to the OPs application)

Plenty of weights on this one

My car has the one piece rotors on it now and I'm looking to put it back to factory if possible.
I have a line on a pair of hubs form a '68 Mustang. I'm pretty sure they are the same as '69's, however it appears
the GT350, GT500, and Boss cars used a different hub?? I'm assuming the 428CJ cars used the bigger hub as well?

Also does anyone have a picture of an original rear drum? Mine were replaced with units made in China and I'm not exactly sure what the originals looked like.

No Cj isn't the same as 69 Boss and later Shelbys (after then changed to the big suspension just before the Boss came out - end part of March 69 or so)

CJ is the same as the "normal" 69 Mustang  with disc

Anyone needing the unique Boss 302 or 69/70 Shrlby rotors best get them while you can. It has taken Tony B and NPD ten years to go through the batch they had made up and split. Tony told me once those are gone it dosnt make sense for him to invest in another run. He has about 20 pairs . I don't know how many NPD has. In the past many Boss and Shelby spindles got changed out to take advantage of regular Mustang rotors .

Thanks again! I will try to source some drums that look like these.

I have a line on some original hubs. Are the discs still available for the original hubs or are they impossible to find as well?
I looked online, but couldn't find anything.
