rotation numbers on 69 Shelby's
« on: June 11, 2010, 09:22:44 PM »
I thought that I read some where that the rotation numbers were from 0-999, then started again, is that correct ?
On the build sheet on the car that I'm restoring, it shows as 1033 in boxes 1 through 4.

Also, is it the rotation number that is written on the front cross member on the lh side.
Thanks again
Arild

Yes the 001-999 is what we've been told by workers and plant managers for the period when the classic Mustangs and Shelby's were built.  Seen thousands of build sheets and never seen what you describe.

Would be interested in a scan of the sheet. And have to ask (no offense please) if the build sheet is original?  Since we have seen some good fakes over the years. Guessing that the car is an unrestored car?

Very interesting - thanks for sharing

Got the scan and yes it appears that at some point in 69 Dearborn must have moved to using more numbers for some reason. Will have to ask the workers I have access to when I get the next opportunity

Thanks
