GT500 J Hook
« on: October 02, 2020, 03:04:18 PM »
I want to start looking for an original spare tire J hook, nut and plate for my 1967. I understand these were long due to the MagStar depth. I saw a 1969 10 3/4" one at Branda I believe it was, but NPD shows largest at 9 1/4". What length J hook should I be looking for? thanks.

There is not one on the market that looks like the original. The nearest thing is the space saver tire J hook. Marked C in Scotts picture . https://www.scottfullerreproductions.com/catalog/item/4595229/6752241.htm  . The hook portion is different on the magstar hook but Scotts will function the same .

I can't find anything here by searching Mag Star hook or similar. As I look for an original, is it the 11" one that I am looking for? Is there a picture of an original somewhere here? Thanks.

Yes that is the one he is referring to.

Will look to see if I have a picture of one loose that I can post.

Pics of the hooks and top "washer" would be appreciated for all 3 configurations!
