All,
I am working on an early 1968 San Jose 390 GT fastback and I am looking for a little guidance (opinions and pictures) for a few items. The GT is an LA DSO, automatic, with power steering and A/C.
1. I am not sure what the alternator and smog mounting bracket(s) look like. Pictures would be very helpful
2. Based on my January 1968 MPC, the distributor may be a C8OF-12127-D or possibly a C7OF-12127-F. I think the vacuum control is a dual advance unit (top ports and no front port), possibly a C8AZ-12370-C, -E, or -A. Opinions and pictures for this.
3. I have read through previous posts on the correct A/C idler pulley and mounting bracket for the 390 (thank to Bob G for really good pictures in that thread). My question is how what this installed and used with the power steering pump bracket.
4. Last question is belts! I know the alternator gets two belts (2 of the 3 grooves on the crank and water pump pulleys), the power steering pump get one belts (1 groove on the crank pulley), and the smog pump gets one belt (1 groove on the water pump pulley). So what belt drives the A/C compressor? Is is a combo smog pump-A/C belt?
Regards,
Pete Morgan
