« on: October 07, 2016, 04:18:41 PM »
Would it be better to use the original clips or are there good reproductions available ? 1969 fastback.

Thanks,
John

I prefer to reuse originals if they are not cracked or deformed. There must be a dozen different sizes, lengths and so on if you go the replacement direction. Sometimes these com in handy if your having problems refitting the trim but I try and use the originals first then work from there. Just me :)

I highly recommend that you test fit your moldings before installing the glass.  That way there are no surprises when it all goes back together.  The moldings are not adjustable once they are locked into the clip.

My dad bought reproductions for his 68. They had so little spring tension that they would not even hold the molding. I went to my stash and got originals and after cleaning up the big mess installed them. The moldings went on perfectly.
