67 a/c lines
« on: February 19, 2016, 12:09:20 AM »
Can anyone identify these two pieces that go onto the sight glass line from the compressor. It seems the shop shows them but doesn't ID them.

Yes that looks like the check valve and adapter. Are you looking for a part number or something like that or just a confirmation?

Conformation Jeff, with all of the service information I have found for a/c systems even a 70 page manual written in 67 they all have common procedures and don't show model line specific parts.

That is a quick disconnect.

Scott, what is the idea behind the quick disconnect being there ? I don't seem to see this mentioned in manuals.

Speculation I would have is the AC/Heater case with hoses was "pre-charged" with freon. Snap it on and go onto the next car. Translation: Assemblyline purposes only.

Doesn't seem to be a quick disconnect when it comes time to remove or disconnect it. But trust that is possibly a term used to describe the valve in some ford document ;)

Sorry, Quick Disconnect is what one of the reproduction vendors calls it.

Ford MPC calls it: Coupling - Self Sealing, C1SZ-19B595-A & C1SZ-19B596-A.
