67 390 oil pan ID
« on: February 17, 2016, 09:32:03 PM »
Are 390 oil pans for 67 to 70 all of the same shape for a mustang ?  I have only found a FOMOCO block stamp and no engineering number. The one I have does not seem to be damaged but it also seems to have many bumps and lines in addition to the clearance made for the frame connector under the pan as installed in the car.

Can you post a photo? Some of those bumps and lines may be a normal result of the stamping process. It's not unusual for a deep-drawn part to have some wrinkling, and draw marks (parallel scratches) are typical in certain areas.

It seems for the most part the sides are flat and the sealing surface is flat also.
