ON FASTBACKS (not mine), will the Part # COMB-6443720-C if NOS Ford be a good choice? If not, any success with any repros yet?

I bought the Daniel Carpenter trunk seal, which is supposed to be exact for a Fast Back. The issue I am having is I can't get the deck lid to settle down so the lid isn't higher than the end caps. It seems like the rubber is more dense than the original, even though cross sectionally it seems correct.
I thought about using a heat gun, heating it up and latching it. Strange it fit perfectly until the seal was installed.

Same issue with my '69 Shelby deck lid. :(

How long is the perimeter of the fastback trunk weatherstripping?

I have a couple of the COMB-6443720-C original Ford weatherstrips now and I wonder if there is enough inside one box to do two fastbacks.

This weatherstripping fits many years and many applications when cut to fit since it is long enough to go all the way around a Lincoln trunk, it may very well do two fastbacks with inches to spare.

Is the 125" measurement a FB or a coupe/convertible?

To answer what John has, he would be working on a 67 GTA Fastback.

Otherwise, to answer the question I posed "Will this Lincoln weatherstrip fit two cars?",
Nope, 213 inches divided by two would not be enough to do two fastback trunks, even if we could confirm this design to be similar to original. :(

According to one online source, the Fasback uses a trapazoid shaped cross-cut, is this true? If it is true then the ones I have are not similar to original (see image attached)

This is a very common problem it seems with ALL AFTERMARKET WEATHERSTRIPPING these days. This is why the topic keeps coming back up time and time again since NOS original weatherstripping supplies are depleting or ridiculously out or reach (common sense wise anyways).

I previously bought a set of repro door weatherstrips for a Buick Regal that I couldn't even get the door to close with them on. I ended up putting the original, dry-rotted ones back on.  >:(

I was speaking recently to a restorer who mentioned that the best way to get proper panel alignment is to buy two sets of the (presumably aftermarket, "Best USA type") weatherstripping and make all of your adjustments to the doors and the trunk lid WHILE STILL IN PRIMER using a sacrifice set of strips.
I didn't ask if this was true with NOS weatherstripping but I doubt anyone would sacrifice any NOS weatherstripping to set up panel alignment  :o
