1967 Mustang wiper motor mounted to bracket...
« on: February 10, 2016, 06:38:52 AM »
I was wondering if anyone had their wiper motor still mounted to the bracket and off the vehicle? I need a picture to see which way the wiper motor lever is pointing when the wipers would be in the "parked" position.

                                                                                          Thanks,

John, that is it!  Thank you!  That is in the "at rest" position? I wanted to make sure the motor arm was clocked correctly before putting into the Shelby.

FYI if unsure in the least I would not install the wipers but run the motor and verify were it settles before installing . I saw what happened during a operational check in concours (typically don't check wipers but did this time ) . It was not pretty and arms scratched cowl. Also , Trico "satin"not polished arms , Trico marked satin 15" wipers holder -just in case that question is in the near future.

Bob, thanks!  You would be proud. I have a pair of NOS Trico arms, which are more satin than polished like the Drake repros.
I won't be installing the arms until all the harnesses are back in, which is just the under-dash unit at this point.
Thanks again for the heads up and the prompt responses.

Speaking of under dash ,the electrical assembly manual is great to use with its underdash illustrations for layout the wiring harness etc.

Keith, yes that was at rest.

Even though I was absolutely confident of that, I did exactly what Bob said in his reply - I did a try run.  Bolted everything in place, and with a temporary setup using a power supply (a battery could be used), I ran the motor, making sure that the linkages were doing as I expected. No wipers were installed at the time, just in case.   It ran well and parked fine.

I figured once I put all of the other stuff (steering column, console, air cond) in the way, if there was a problem with the wiper system, it would be a big bummer to have to go backwards.

Actually every piece that I put back I consider what I could do to test it.
