Topic: 67 Dearborn heater hoses

A search didn't show a thread for a Dearborn car April 28 build with A/C , what color hoses would be used.   Also with a internet search I found kevin Marti sells 3 sets of color combination with something I didn't know about and that is a molded 90* bend on the longer hoses for behind the engine block, I think this is needed because the room for the turn behind the cylinder head is way to tight but don't know if the molded long hoses are correct.

I agree that would be a safe bet.

Believe that the color was related to time period rather than supplier in general so IMHO yes that would be the safe choice at this juncture

Jeff : As always, thanks for your input. After reading your answer, I was going to print out a copy of the Illustration showing the Heater Hoses from my 67 MPC, and note that they were the "red stripe" type. When I went to that section, the adjoining text notes " C7AZ-18472-A, 5/8" I.D. - red stripe". Guess I should have checked that first, but many times, the "spoken word" is better than the "printed" one.

Yea you can't always go by those. If you had asked about San Jose or another period of production you might have gotten a different answer

+1. White and also yellow were also possibilities depending plant and time as Jeff pointed out..

As a follow up, while going through the TSB articles the other day researching another question for another member/thread I ran across a bulletin that stated that the formed heater hose was replaced by a straight one for a period of time (end of 67 period if I recall correctly)  Know people are possibly purchasing parts based on what they read here so wanted to mention this fact as soon as possible. In the days to come will post the complete TSB article so that owners can make the most educated choices for their restorations

A quick view of the wording suggest yes the long hose was involved in this on AC equipped cars built between Oct 20 1966 and Jan 31 1967

No explanation is given for why Ford used (made the change) during this period

As promised From a March 1967 bulletin. Not sure why they made this change in production for this approx two month long period but there it is
