Topic: Cracked steering wheel

Hi. I have a rim blow wood grain steering wheeling my 69 mach 1 and it has a crack on the rim.
Is there anything I can do to repair it or do I just get a new one?

You can repair it yourself - effort, time and the right product with = the quality of the finished product. Believe a number of members here have attempted this

Think there are small businesses that repair these for a fee

Or you can purchase a reproduction. Will let others comment about how good or bad they are

My '64 1/2 steering wheel is also cracked, but it's not on the rim part, but the middle area where it goes onto the steering column.
Is that part of the wheel repairable, or do I need a new one?
I was going to buy a new one until the recent Mustang Monthly article showing how to repair it, but it didn't have damage in that area, and I'm wondering if that's a structural area, instead of cosmetic like around the rim.
Any thoughts/recommendations?

Buy a new one, don't restore it.  It's a friggin nightmare.

I highly recommend Gary McNeill of Rimblow Restorations, I have had 3 steering wheels restored by him. I chose him after getting photo's of work from restorers worldwide at the time.
