That is superior to mothballs, but probably not as long lasting.

Seems to keep the mice out - never seen how many years they last =.

If you do use a car bag, I put out a couple old school spring traps loaded with peanut butter a few days before bagging the car for extra insurance. That way, when the bag is zipped shut, there is little chance of anything lurking inside. Once zipped, leave one at each end of the car - outside the bag - just in case.
