Topic: 64.5 Brake Pedal Finish

Just want to confirm if the brake pedal finish should be natural and then 3/4 dipped in satin black?
Mine is a little too rusted on the surface to tell exactly where the paint should finish, but I can see traces of black paint.
I've used a white outlined box around the area I think it should be dipped at if at all in a couple of the pics
Any tips on getting the metal to correct finish would be appreciated as well... thanks in advance.

Yes, end dipped in black.  Soaking these in evapo-rust usually retains some of the finishes like the welds, etc...

got to refinishing the brake pedal a few weeks back, I used a similar product to evaporust and soaked the pedal for between 24-48 hours, cleaned up nice, and prepped for paint, I'm happy with the result.

Also threw the pedal support in which was covered in surface rust, that came out really clean as well, I've coated that in Boeshield to maintain the natural finish.

Thanks, the product is called Deox, it comes in either crystalized or gel format, the gel is good  when used with a scotchbright pad, and the crystalized is mixed with water to leave parts to soak.
I've used both with great results.
