67 289 thermactor gaskets at heads
« on: December 31, 2019, 06:21:12 PM »
Referencing the attached picture, I'm looking for what to do with items 37 (C7OE-9C436-A) and 39 (C7OE-9C435-A or C7DE-9C435-A).  The MPC lists C7OZ-9C435-A and C7OZ-9C435-B for these.

I'm not finding them available for purchase.  Any suggestions? Thanks
John

I should mention that I did a fair amount of searching, as well as looking at pictures of unrestored cars.  Nothing really helpful thus far.

These are made of copper.
I found the small ones in a Napa store brake caliper hose attaching banjo nut seal assortment.
If memory serves, the large ones I sourced some that would work by i.d. size, I could not match the o.d. size. Hydraulic hose banjo bolts, think tractors, Bobcats, farm implements.
I believe I ended up using my old ones over again.

I went thru this a couple of years ago.  Like Richard, I reused the 2 small washers and I only had 1 of the large ones.  I could not source one, so I made one.  Luckily, I measured and recorded the measurements of both washers.
Small washer:  OD-.633”, ID- .330”, thickness- .030”
Large washer:  OD-.1.130”, ID- .860”, thickness- .030”

This is for the car listed in my signature.
Hope this helps a little,
John

Most excellent!
I did not cite dimensions because I didn't record them.
Honestly, I seem to recall starting a thread before, maybe in the wanted section.

Agreed, thanks John.

Comparing your numbers with those from the MPC, they look reasonably close for the function served.

Not yet. The smaller one is fairly common.  The large one not do much.  I found something close online, but I need to measure the part to ensure it will fit.
