« on: August 06, 2015, 03:40:42 PM »
Would 9" axles from this year have the Daytona pinion support ?

Don't believe so. Can't recall seeing one of those pinion supports on any standard 9" third member

It would be on Shelby's and cars that came with a 427, along those lines?

67 Shelby pinion retainers look just like 67 390 ones from the outside

More familiar with the 69 N cases and the Daytona style pinion retainers on those but still not a major focus for me

Don't recall anyone referring to the 67's with that term

Late 67 version in picture just in case where talking about the same thing but terms are getting in the way ;)

Thanks for the pic Jeff, we are talking about the same thing. I have herd the Daytona term thrown around for many years from people who knew the term ( and that it refers to a larger bearing ) but not application. From the factory it's usually a N case thing then ?

The cases are marked SPEC in place of where the date code typically is.
