Radiator Hose Marking -
« on: June 22, 2013, 12:38:55 AM »
On my 66 "K" engine are two radiator hose marked with the current hose part numbers, C6ZE-8286-A lower and C4ZE-8260-A upper, plus a Falcon service part number, C3DZ-8286-J (?) lower and C3DZ-8260-H upper. This are about the only parts I know of that have an engineering, aka assembly line part number, and service part number, the "Z" in the fourth position, that show up on Mustangs. I got these from Marti Auto and I know that Kevin did a lot of research on the parts he sells, still, did Ford use the dual part numbers as described on these parts?

Some, but not all had the extra service number stamping.  No clue if this was something that Ford required from the supplier.

Hi,

I was reading this topic and come up with a doubt. Talking about part number C4ZE-8260-A, I've seen several examples (original and repro) that have an A-Y marking right next to FoMoCo logo. I know that AY is the vendor code, in this case Firestone. But there are others (AU for Goodyear, etc).

But, what about 4V markings? I've seen a lot of examples that instead of A-Y, had 4V next to the FoMoCo logo. What does 4V stands for? Is it for type of engine (289 4V) ? If so, does it means that a 289 2V car must not have that specific stamped hose? So, what should a 289 2V have?
