Is there a way to avoid this and or fix ones that have been posted that way. Thanks.

If the pictures are on your computer and it's runnng Microsoft Windows,  you can open the pictures up in Picture Viewer or Paint, rotate and save.  Hope this helps.

Depends on where you have them stored. If in our gallery then you'll need to rotate the original to the way you want it and upload another picture and then link to the "fixed" picture. IF uploaded to a location like PhotoBucket they have tools on their site that allows you to edit/rotate the original - and in turn the link will reflect the changes
