Distributor Cap
« on: February 03, 2010, 06:19:03 PM »
I'm looking to get the correct Distributor Cap (7HA 12106) for my May 1966 convertible with 200 CI. What would be correct,  a Fomoco, or an Autolite ?

Thanks,
Dave

Ok looks like I've answered my own question. MCA rule book says FOMOCo or AUTOLITE. Either with #1 or Autolite on cap. The FOMOCO I found has 1 thru 6 on cap. I'm guessing the cap with just the #1 is for a V8.

Yes the V8 FoMoCo was the one with only the 1 on the top of the cap. If you need a 6 cyl AUTOLITE I should still have a couple of NOS ones if the FoMoCo you found is not nice enough for your use

Doing a little research for a 6 cylinder distributor cap and came across this topic.  Interesting that the Autolite and FoMoCo are mentioned and not the Motorcraft.  I have a NOS Motorcraft cap and rotor.  If not ' correct ' for 65-66 what years are the Motorcraft acceptable or correct for ?  Thanks,  Brian
