Topic: 67 390 air filter housing lid

I never noticed this difference until I had two of them side by side and realized that one of them might be for another application. Which one is correct for a 67 390 ? They both have the same top as pictured.

Probably better to ask which one is correct for a 67 S code Mustang as I believe both were used on 67 390's

For your use the second (without the ring) is what you want if I recall correctly

I have seen that inner ring but not often & wonder if it had anything to do with ca. emission  or an early thing  since the 8 top side raised spokes had small flattened area where the lower ring was spotwelded to?  Don't recall seeing the lower ring on cj or b2 lids.

Daisy is CA emissions and did not have the "inner ring."

My 67 Dearborn 390 car has the lid without the ring.
