64 1/2 Front and Rear Brake Drums Pic
« on: July 31, 2015, 04:52:12 AM »
Could someone please provide pictures of what the original front and rear brake drums look like for a 64 1/2 if they differ from 65/66.

My fronts have fins around the perimeter of the drum, not so sure that is correct, and the rear I suspect should have a single or dual groove which mine don't.

Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Dom

Should not have fins in the drums, should be smooth with the lines you mentioned.  Usually have a date and 'FoMoCo' casting.  Bendix and Kelsey-Hayes (K/H marked) were suppliers.

here's a pic of a rear drum.  Sorry it isn't of the whole drum; I took the pic documenting the FoMoCo on the drum as original equipment.  Next time I have the wheels off, I'll take better pics.

BTW, my car came off the assembly line 9/11/64 (San Jose) with many of the early (64 ½) parts on the car, so I'm betting these drums are what was on a true 64 ½

Hope this helps.

Rechecked all the drums last night, and 1 of the rears is an original :o WooHoo!  :)
Whether or not it can be used i'm not sure, but being original it's a small win
