diaphragm for c4zf-e distributor
« on: February 07, 2015, 07:46:19 PM »
Looking for the source and part # for a new replacement vacuum advance diaphragm for the subject distributor on my 64 1/2 V8 260.  It has the metal tubing, not the rubber hose.  I attached a couple of pics of my old one.  Thanks everyone!

Most of the Mustang vendors (Va. Classic Mustang & NPD) sold the diaphragm at one time. I'd give them a try.

true. they do but it is a motorcraft replacement, not autolite which would be correct.

The diaphragm you need is C5AZ-12370-A, Motorcraft DD-190.

There is no marking on the part, only the box says Motorcraft.

They ran out last year, at least it's not listed anymore.

Bought a DD-190 from Tin O'Conner a couple of months ago.  The major parts retailers don't have any.  You can buy a refurbished C5AZ-12370-A from Tim but your core looks good.  You can send it in to him and he'll rebuild it for you.  Tim's a good guy.

What is the cost for a rebuilt diaphragm? I may have a need to purchase one.

Check the website carlite65 posted above.  $46 for the Motorcraft part.  $85 for a rebuilt Autolite part.
