'65-'66 352-390 intake manifold mystery tag

Came across this intake manifold for a plain 352-390, C5AE-9425-C, date code of 5A21. Affixed is what looks to be a brass tag to the intake with the letters/number as follows: XML 42R and underneath: 526182. Does anyone here know what the mystery tag would represent?

Interesting find, the 526182 numbers could be a Mercury VIN number. Maybe an engine builder or machine shop tag for identification and or warranty?

I was always under the impression that they were a tag put on by one of the big rebuilders like Fred Jones.
