I can buy a seat foam from a friend and want to install it on a 69 mach 1 high back seat.

The seat foam is from NPD and suitable for 70 standard/deluxe high back excl. mach 1.

So is there a difference between the 70 standard/deluxe high back and the 69 mach 1 seat ?

Kind regards, Martin

Location of the seat back release knob as well as the latch locations are a couple of the differences

69

70

According to NPD catalog, there is a difference between 69-70 mach1 and 70 standard high back foam. It was listed as "Economy seat foam" though.

Also, in the NPD catalog, The professional quality/precision molded foam from ACI says 69-70 mach1. There was no listing for 70 standard high back. I couldn't see where seat foam would make a huge difference between 69-70 mach1 and 70 standard high back. Save for the seat latch cutouts between 69-70.  JMO

Got an answer from NPD.

The bottoms between the 2 are different. They have the listing rods further back on the mach and the rear portion of the lower has a curve that starts out further back. The backs themselves are the same.

So apparently the mach 1 seats differ from the standard on a '70 mustang.
